Our premises is located directly in front of a Marine Reserve created in 1971 by the European Union as a Site of Community Importance. The close proximity to the city of Portoferraio’s heart offers a perfect alternative to a day at the beach. This 16th Century impressive citadel exceptionally preserves Etruscans and Romans ruins and spa, an entire fortification system built by the Florentine de Medici family, and Napoleon’s estate and museums. The downtown port area is also filled with wonderful restaurants and shops of all sorts. Our Marine Reserve View hotel comes with private garden facilities and reserved shaded parking areas, flat-screen TVs with Italian/International cable channels as well as free wireless Internet access. The Residence has ten apartments, and the property, whose architecture reminds of a panoramic, informal, comfortable and large Tuscan villa surrounded by a Mediterranean garden, lies immediately behind the “Padulella” beach. There are other similar beaches at close reach, surrounded by high, sheer white cliffs. They all have amazingly white pebbles, whose origin is narrated in Greek mythology, supposedly linked to the Argonauts’s legend, mentioned by Homer and Apollonius of Rhodes.
